Les amants de Mogador Souheil Ben Barka
1936. Mogador, a Moroccan coastal town, is under French colonial administration. Hélène, 24, the adventurous daughter of a French judge, is forced to lead the sheltered life of a girl from a good family and feels stifled within her community. Albert Forjat, a garrison commander, makes known his wish to marry her. Belkacem is a young merchant from Zagora who travels the desert from Timbuktu to Mogador. In town, he is a calm and serene man, respected by all, including the French. Behind the scenes, he finances the last pockets of Moroccan resistance in the mountains of the south. Everything sets the two young people apart, and yet a passion will unite them despite general disapproval and the anger of Forjat, who is ready to do anything to eliminate Belkacem.
