01 — Synopsis
L’uomo che non cambiò la storia

Ranuccio Bianchi Bandinelli is a world-renowned professor of archaeology despite his young age. What is more, this scion of a great Tuscan family speaks fluent German. That is why the Fascist Ministry of Popular Culture appoints him as the Führer’s personal cultural guide during his first visit to Italy in May 1938. Much against his will, for Ranuccio is quietly anti-fascist. When he is given the details of the cultural visits Mussolini intends to offer his guest in Rome and Florence, Ranuccio begins to hatch plans to rid himself of the two dictators, whom he senses are a danger to humanity. Yet as he ponders carrying out a possible assassination attempt, this eminently cultured man begins to doubt his ability to go through with it. Perhaps there is another, subtler way to show his dissent…
